Children's Yoga

In a world where children are continuously told to hurry up and are kept busy all hours of the day, yoga can be time out from the stresses that present them in this modern western world. Yoga for children can be used to gently exercise, relax and learn about their body and mind.

By having a movement practice from an early age, children can develop a realistic image of the body and begin to understand what job our body has for us, how to take care of ourselves and develop physical and mental strength.

People can often struggle with recognising and dealing with their emotions, especially children. Through yoga classes, children can develop their emotional literacy and understanding of the emotions they feel. Alongside this, being able to work out why they have these feelings can relieve anxieties.

Yoga has many physical benefits for children. The physical and mental processes of yoga can allow children’s sleep to improve, through becoming active yet calm, and capable of self regulation.

Yoga is suitable for all children, and has even more benefits for children with additional needs or disabilities.
