Yoga Therapy

The term ‘Yoga Therapy’ was first coined by Swami Kuvalyananda in the 1920s. He believed it would be possible to measure the physiological and psychological changes that occurred through a personalised yoga practice. This passion encouraged researchers to India to study yoga’s effect. Swami Kuvalyananda made it possible to start applying the specific effects of yoga to medical conditions.

Yoga Therapy pulls from Yoga Philosophy, Posture, Breathing and Practical Anatomy to provide healing. This is usually done in a 1:1 basis, however can also be provided to larger groups who have conditions which hold similar ailments.

Amber will assess and personalise each session to the needs and conditions of the student. Yoga Therapy uses postures and props to cultivate healing rather than for exercise purposes, allowing everyone to access the healing benefits of yoga practice.
